      A Bitter Legacy

In this award-winning feature documentary, veteran filmmaker Claudia Katayanagi investigates the harsh and secret prisons created for "trouble-makers" within the Japanese American incarceration camp system during WW II. These secret prisons created by the U.S. government have been called "precursors to Guantanamo." Ms. Katayanagi will be available for a post-screening discussion of her work on A Bitter Legacy, as well as on her current work filming in Lordsburg and other locations in the Southwest.

This program is presented in partnership with New Mexico Japanese American Citizens League.
