Raise Hell: The Life & Times of Molly Ivins - a new documentary!

Sep 21Saturday 6pm only! Dir. Janice Engel - 2019 - 91m - No Matinees BONUS:  Molly Ivin's sister Sara Maley to speak at the opening Saturday Sept. 21 screenings!  Tickets will be $12 for all at this particular show as a partial benefit for SEARCHLIGHT NEW MEXICO, a non-partisan, nonprofit news organization dedicated to investigative and public service journalism in the interest of the people of New Mexico! Bullies, windbags and good ol’ boys beware. Molly Ivins is back on the attack. Raise Hell: The Life & Times of Molly Ivins, a tribute to this legend of American journalism, plays September 21,22 and 23 at The Guild Cinema. After 40 years as a crusading news reporter and columnist, Molly died in 2007 in Austin, but her reporting – fearless, irreverent and laugh-out-loud funny – still inspires truth tellers in New Mexico and across the country. The Guild joins the investigative reporters of Searchlight New Mexico in paying tribute to Molly with the screening of director Janice Engel’s Raise Hell. The new documentary tells the story of a reporter who combined humor and brilliance to fight for underdogs and to challenge the status quo.
